June 4, 2020, is a day James Henry is sure to remember forever. That’s when ZoomInfo, the Vancouver, Washington-based go-to-market intelligence platform for B2B sales and marketing teams, became a publicly traded company.
Its Nasdaq debut as ZI represented the largest software IPO in a decade and validated the support and assistance Henry provided to ZoomInfo to reach the significant milestone in the young company’s history. In 2021, Henry became ZoomInfo’s associate general counsel.
The Lewis & Clark Law School graduate always intended to go in-house. While his peers were clerking for judges and working at law firms, he was focused on applying for corporate jobs and working his professional network. “Since the in-house positions that I was qualified to apply for were few and far between,” he explains, “I gave each application an enormous amount of attention and was a relentless self-advocate.”
The hard work paid off, and Henry landed his first in-house job just months after passing the bar exam.
The young lawyer is passionate about land and wildlife conservation as well as serving the most vulnerable members of his community. Outside of ZoomInfo, he’s currently on the board of the Washington Timbers Football Club, a local nonprofit youth soccer club an also volunteers and donates to various local organizations and groups such as Share Vancouver, Clark County Food Bank, Evergreen Public Schools, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, and the Theodores.
