Carlos Nuñez is following in the footsteps of his dad—his hero and role model. The elder Nuñez attended law school in Venezuela; the younger went to the University of Miami (UM) School of Law.
Today, he supports Airbnb’s marketing and intellectual property legal team. In that role, Nuñez concentrates on providing contractual support to various creative and production teams as well as giving product marketing support.
When it comes to picking a specific career accomplishment or proudest moment, Nuñez hesitates because he says he’s fortunate to have experienced many moments that have brought him a feeling of “pure aw and joy.” One is being admitted to UM law. Others include joining American Express and Airbnb.
“As my career has progressed,” he notes, “I have also had to learn to find and improve my ‘voice’ as a lawyer, continuously earn a seat at the table, and also convince myself that I deserve that seat and voice.”
Nuñez has also embarked on another important journey in parenthood and is always working to maintain a healthy balance between work and family. In 2015, he joined his sister to run the NYC marathon to raise money for a community kitchen in his native country, and Nuñez continues to find other ways to support underprivileged children back in Bejuma, Venezuela.
In the future, he hopes to continue to be in a position where he can give back to the community, and he hopes to still feel happy, excited, and optimistic about his work.
