Sean Rayani oversees the go-to-market contracting strategy, infrastructure, and operations of Twilio’s nearly $3 billion in annual revenue. That support includes over 1,300 salespeople and a GTM commercial legal team of over 40 attorneys.
Rayani has had a significant impact as a strategic leader at Twilio, especially in revamping the company’s entire go-to-market contracting framework.
The legal professional’s biggest challenge was overcoming that he didn’t fit the traditional profile of an in-house pro. Rayani overcame this perception by volunteering early and often and simply working to be the best at his role.
Outside of his role at Twilio, Rayani is a member of the Stone Quarter Share (SQS), a group for young leaders who help organize and advance LGBTQ+ programs and services. After two long years of COVID-19, I was excited to join SQS to meet likeminded leaders and do more for my community,” Rayani says. He also regularly donates to West Side Campaign Against Hunger in New York City.
The admitted Peoples’ Court junky says Judge Marilyn Milian’s candor and practical legal advice drew him in, even at the age of eleven. The wisdom of Milian along with his single Indian mother, imbued Rayani with the understanding that hard work was the norm. Staying true to his roots has empowered him to believe in himself and overcome obstacles at every turn.
